You can canoe a cool piece of Maine history. For decades hardy loggers drove logs down the west Branch of the Penobscot river. Flight #1 will fly you up a unique piece of that river, then drop you off at first Debsconeg Lake. From there you will paddle downstream past the ice caves out onto Debsconeg deadwater then on down the West Branch past Passamagemet beaches then on down to the Boom House. That is a museum. It is dedicated to all those hardy souls that made the log drives happen. It is also a highlight of the trip. From there you will paddle across Ambajejus Lake and back to Katahdin Air. It is about an 8 hour day including stops.
Price includes The seaplane ride, The Canoe or kayak, a handy map, and a few stories from you personal bush pilot.
There are two short carries that are a must unless you have good canoeing experience. This is an adventure into the past on this historic, wildlife rich, and drop dead gorgeous sections of river in the world.
